Adult Nutrition

The
dog is perceived as a meat eater, and this is certainly true, but
it is often overlooked that his natural diet should include carbohydrates
and other plant materials, which were formerly available through the
natural prey. Amounts of these would vary in the dogs normal wild environment,
according to many factors, and it is impossible to be precise about the
quantities of each required at any one time. There is little doubt that dogs
will live on a diet of 100% of any one of these ingredients, but they are unlikely
to be healthy if this continues for anything other than a short period of time.
Variety is the key and we have put together a mix of these components, which
has been shown to be ideal for most domestic breed dogs. We encourage the use
of up to 10% of titbits such as par boiled green vegetables and other meats, as
dogs love the variety that this provides and it helps prevent fussiness.
